The Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology invites you to join artist Jaquie Feldman to learn, create and play the ancient Egyptian board game Senet. Challenge someone to this game played by Tutankhamun and take your own version home to play with family and friends.
Senet, also known as the 'game of passing', referencing the journey to the Afterlife, is a game which earliest depiction dates back to 2620 BC. One-hundred years ago in Tutankhamun’s tomb, an elaborate board on a sledge-like stand was discovered; he believed he would still be playing his favourite game of Senet after his death.
