DJ Whimsy or what will the climate be like

With DJ Whimsy or What will the climate be like?, three performers and one DJ take the audience on an hour-long trip around the hyper-object and urgency of climate breakdown, questioning how we got there, how we are affected by it and how we relate to it.

With dream like repetition, sampling rave music and lyrics from various genres within popular music ranging from Jacques Brel to Alicia Keys, we are reminded that every generation wrestles with environmental breakdown. Each person confronts complex feelings of rage, hope and denial as climate change affects us all on a planetary and cellular level

This interdisciplinary performance is a space for feeling, being in the artifice, silliness and imagining alternative futures. In the rave, there is a sweet moment of collectivity and a chance to connect with others through their unique differences. From this cosmic trance, absurd individual voices bring us back to the human drama of desires and needs.

With DJ Whimsy you are invited to witness the tensions and struggles of the systems we are part of and the climates within us.

There will also be a post show talk with UCL researchers.
