Fleming's slide collection
These two magic lantern slides are from a collection of over 3,500 slides, many of which were used by J. Ambrose Fleming.
The Electrical Engineering collection at UCL contains several thousand magic lantern slides. Magic lanterns are a type of early image projector developed in the 17th century and used well into the 19th century. The majority of the Electrical Engineering slides come from a collection belonging to J. Ambrose Fleming, UCL’s first professor of Electrical Engineering.
