Information to help with planning your visit to UCL's museums

Grant Museum of Zoology

The Grant Museum of Zoology welcomes visits from school groups on self-guided visits, which are free of charge. These self-guided visits can be booked Tuesday to Friday, 10.30am to 1pm, depending on availability. Booking is essential, please email museums@ucl.ac.uk for more details. Please note the Museum can accommodate up to two classes, or 60 students per visit.

self-guided visit to the Museum may support Key Stage 2 topics such as

  • Bones and skeletons
  • Teeth, eating and diet
  • Grouping and classification
  • Adaptions and evolution

Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology

The Petrie Museum welcomes school groups on self-guided visits on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between 10am and 12pm. A visit is ideal for classes studying Ancient Egypt at Key Stage 2. There is no charge for this service. Pupils will norm
ally have exclusive use of the museum. Visits are based on the use of a Teacher's Pack (Available to download here). Pre booking is essential and this can be arranged by contacting museums@ucl.ac.uk.

Please note that all school visits must be booked in advance.
