Engaging with East London

Engaging with East London

UCL East will be an open, accessible and engaged university campus. We will reach out to and engage with people who live, work and study in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, making a significant contribution to realising the Olympic legacy.

We will do this by:

  • empowering staff and students to be agents for change in the community
  • enabling and supporting productive relationships with local communities
  • working with Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park partners to support the delivery of the Olympic legacy
  • communicating and engaging with local communities to deliver successful construction and transition to operation.

UCL does research that addresses real world problems, and through our Public Engagement Unit we are committed to opening up our research to people outside the university, creating a culture of two-way engagement between researchers and the public.

For more information contact the Community Engagement (East) team or go to the UCL East website.

Our upcoming opportunities include:

Trellis: Growing Community University Partnerships
As part of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) funding, UCL Culture is creating opportunities for knowledge exchange between researchers and communities around our future campus at UCL East.
There will be three strands of activity:

  1. Community partnership building events
  2. Public Art
  3. Training in knoweldge exchange and community engagement.

The Community Engagement Seed Fund is a small grants funding round designed to support the development of engagement activities and partnership opportunities with east London communities. The next deadline for consideration is the 14th February.
