The Bloomsbury Theatre is a 541 seat venue, split across two levels, with excellent sight lines from all seats. Fantastically located less than a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross and Euston stations, as well as Warren Street and Euston Square tube stations. With its intimate seating, excellent sight lines, orchestra pit, Harlequin grey/black reversible dance floor and accoustically designed panelling, it is perfect for concerts, opera and dance. A popular space for comedy and spoken word including podcast/radio recordings.
With its beautifully designed audiroium with traditional red seating,walnut pannelling and brass furnishings, the Theatre makes a perfect setting for photo shoots and filming.
The theatre has two bars for public or private use, perfect for VIP receptions.
Hiring the theatre includes Box Office support (via Spekrix), Front of House and Technical support.
Hire enquiries for 2019 onwards are now being accepted.
The Bloomsbury Studio is a studio/Black Box theatre with flexible seating layouts which can seat up to 70 people. The studio has been used for a variety of events including comedy, music, plays, musicals, product/book launchs,pod casts and workshops.
The space is also designed to be used as a dance studio, with a sprung floor, permanent black dance floor floor and mirrored wall/ballet barre (discreetly hidden behind masking).
The studio has a modern lighting rig and high quality sound and projection systems. Adjacent to the studio is a dedicated foyer and bar space.
The Bloomsbury Theare has its own paint frame which is located within the Theatre backstage area.
The Theatre owns a baby grand piano and the Studio has an upright piano. Both are available for hire plus tuning fees.
Please be aware that the Bloomsbury is owned by the University College London which use the space throughout the year which means certain months the spaces are unavailable for hire. The Bloomsbury does not operate as a producing theatre so does not accept script proposals or co produce commercial hire shows. The Bloomsbury is a registered charity.
