2 Japanese spider crab

Did you know that the Japanese Spider Crab has the greatest leg span of any arthropod, reaching up to 3.7 meters (12 ft) from claw to claw? How amazing is that! If you didn't know what an arthropod is, then it’s a type of animal which is an invertebrate, an animal without a backbone. It has an exoskeleton, so the skeleton is on the outside, a mammal has an endoskeleton.The Japanese Spider Crab is a marine crab that lives in the waters around Japan. Also did you know that Spider Crabs use camouflage to hide: The Crab's bumpy carapace (upper shell)  blends into the rocky ocean floor? Fun Facts about the Japanese Spider Crab: Their armoured exoskeleton helps protect them from larger predators such as octopuses.
