I’ve studied Jewish history in late Antiquity (ancient civilisations) and the early Middle Ages, and Rabbinic Literature (historical writing by Rabbis). I’ve also studied world calendars and ways of counting time.

I studied Ancient History (with Greek and Latin) at Oxford. Before joining UCL, I was a lecturer at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies). I have lived in Hackney for over thirty years.
