UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies is delighted to welcome Nick Merriman, Chief Executive of the Horniman Museum for its third Annual Public Lecture.
Nick Merriman will present on how critical museology has been dominated by a largely human-centred mode of enquiry since it emerged some 35 years ago. With a few notable exceptions, until recently little attention has been focused on what is now being termed the climate and ecological emergency. He will discuss ways in which critical approaches to this phenomenon can both illuminate museology as a subject and influence practice in museums”.
