Where possible, we encourage users to record themselves, as it is an opportunity to make use of free or relatively cheap options and to learn more about the filming process.
We offer a free on-campus self-recording facility known as the MediaPod, as well as equipment loans for academic staff who are creating teaching content. The team also offer advice on how to get the best out of your own recording devices you may have at home.
The MediaPod
The MediaPod is a device which lets anyone make professional quality videos in minutes without specialist skills.
Examples
The MediaPod is ideal for recording micro-lectures and interviews. It allows users to easily display and click through slide decks in real time, provides the option of using a green screen and/or teleprompter, and typically produces a much higher output quality than recording on a laptop.
Find out more about the MediaPod and book a slot or induction.
Equipment loans
We have a small range of video and audio equipment available for loan to UCL Academic staff who are creating content to support their teaching, the team are happy to give guidance on how to use.
See our Media Loan pages for more information.
