The Cosmoparticle Initiative is a five-year programme within the Department of Physics and Astronomy (P&A), linking the P&A Astrophysics and High Energy Physics (HEP) groups with the Mullard Space Science Laboratory Cosmology group.
The aims of the Initiative are:
- To enhance the interdisciplinary links between HEP and Astrophysics staff, postdocs and PhD students with common interests. The key points of overlap are likely to be between cosmology and astro-particle physics (including theory, data, instrumentation and statistics);
- To enhance the training offered to PhD students and postdocs including in transferrable areas such as computing and presentation skills;
- To create and enhance links with major international projects and groups with related interests;
- To create links with statistics and computer science, in particular through the Alan Turing Institute and with the Centre for Doctoral Training in data-intensive science.
