Coronavirus: The Whole Story - Is it time to go back to the office?
14 September 2020
The UCL Minds 'Coronavirus: The Whole Story' podcast highlights UCL's interdisciplinary expertise on COVID-19. This week's edition speaks with Bartlett and Engineering academics around public transport, office environments and office cultures as we return to the office.

UCL's award winning podcast, hosted by broadcaster and UCL alumna Vivienne Parry, speaks weekly with UCL academics, focusing on their areas of expertise in relation to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
This week’s episode includes conversations with Dr Kerstin Sailer and Dr Simon Addyman of the Bartlett and Dr Lena Ciric of Engineering. The guests delve into public transport, mask wearing, transitioning back to the office to working from home settings and the impact coronavirus has had on office cultures and how we access shared spaces. Is flexible working here to stay? What does being in the office offer us?
UCL Consultants, a part of UCL Innovation & Enterprise, has facilitated projects with all of the speakers as they have worked with clients on their needs in the Real Estate and Infrastructure domain. Recently and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UCLC have supported a project investigating requirements for safe return to office environments, led by Dr Simon Addyman. A multi-disciplinary team from various departments within The Bartlett prepared a rapid report for the client outlining measures to consider, including topics from clinical, behavioural and built environment domains.
