Parama was particularly commended for her focus on leadership vision and strategy for improving the teaching of economics and all the aspects within that in terms of systems and structures. As well as her thinking in terms of how to evaluate the value of an economics degree.

She was also praised for her thinking on how to attract and engage students and how to enhance the teaching of colleagues and was told that her work has had both national and international impact and has clearly benefitted the students.

Speaking about the award Parama said: “I'm very honoured to be one of only handful of PFHEA's at UCL and particularly to be in such esteemed company. This award recognises the work that I have within the department, as Director of CTaLE, and as part of the wider economics teaching and learning community, and as such, I am very grateful to all those who have over the years shared new teaching techniques and resources and worked with me on programme and curriculum design and education scholarship, provided guidance for my HEA applications, and written letter of support.”

Professor Antonio Cabrales the Head of UCL Economics congratulated her by saying: “Parama Chaudhury is simply brilliant. She, together with other members of the award-winning CTaLE, has provided leadership for taking to the next level the education provided by a department that offers some of the most rigorous, highest quality, degrees of economics in the world.”
