Tom Semlyen

Dr Tom Semlyen is a Research Associate and Teaching Fellow in British Politics. Tom joined the Constitution Unit in June 2012 and gained his doctorate from King's College London shortly afterwards in February 2013. He currently works in the Parliament team and has been involved in a number of projects, including work on a major three-year study into the impact of the Westminster parliament on government legislation, and assisting Meg Russell in the production of her latest book: The House of Lords: Westminster Bicameralism Revived.

Tom has also taught at King's College London, and is currently a sessional lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London. He is also working on two papers stemming from his PhD research on the rise of equality and diversity in Britain.
