Devolution in the UK has changed and changed utterly. The Scottish independence referendum of 2014 has reinvigorated the discussion of where and with whom power should lie - not just with respect to Scotland but for local communities, for England, for Wales and for Northern Ireland. In a new era of devolution characterised by asymmetrical transfers of power across the four home nations; what is the future for Britain's social union?

Angus Robertson is the SNP Westminster Group Leader. He leads the largest ever group of SNP MPs at Westminster, representing almost every seat in Scotland, making the SNP the UK's third largest political party at Westminster. Angus has represented Moray Constituency in the North East of Scotland since his election in June 2001. Prior to that he was the European and International Affairs Adviser to the SNP group in the Scottish Parliament. Before moving into politics, Angus worked as a foreign and diplomatic correspondent in central Europe for the BBC, Austrian Radio and other leading broadcasters. Angus was born in London and brought up in Edinburgh and holds an MA Honours in Politics and International Relations from Aberdeen University.
