Department of Computer Science scholarships and funding

The Department of Computer Science at UCL has several funding opportunities available to students studying on programmes in the department.

DeepMind Scholarship

Applicants holding an offer, conditional or unconditional, may be eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must be from an under-represented group within computer science. For more information, check your eligibility, and to apply, please see the Deepmind Scholarship (via the Windsor Fellowship) website.

The value of the scholarship is £25,000, and is to be used toward fees, which will be paid on behalf of the succesful candidates, living and research costs. Any balance, after the payment of tuition fees, will be paid as three installments to the bank account of the successful candidate.

    Application information

    Successful nominees will be notified by 31st August 2020.

    Applicants interested in applying for this scholarship should aim to submit their UCL application no later than 31st May 2020.

    MSc Computer Science Excellence Scholarship

    Applicants holding an offer, conditional or unconditional, and are from the UK or EU may be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    We are offering four scholarships to UK/EU offer holders with a record of excellent academic achievement.

    The value of the scholarship is £4,000, and is to be used toward fees, which will be paid on behalf of the succesful candidates.

    The following programmes are eligible to apply:

    • MSc Computational Statistics and Machine Learning
    • MSc Computer Science
    • MSc Computer Graphics, Vision and Imaging
    • MSc Data Science and Machine Learning
    • MSc Disability, Design and Innovation
    • MSc Financial Risk Management
    • MSc Information Security
    • MSc Machine Learning
    • MSc Robotics and Computation
    • MSc Software Systems Engineering

      You are asked to provide a short statement of no more than 200 words explaining why you should receive one of the scholarships. Please include how the scholarship would make a difference to you and any achievements you are particularly proud of.

      Successful nominees will be notified by 31st August 2020.
