Message from Professor Steve Hailes - Head of Department

The Department of Computer Science is founded almost exclusively on the talent of the members of our community. We recognise the achievement of academic members of that community, and their commitment to research, the education of our students, external engagement and the life of the university, through the titles they hold.

Annually, we run a promotion round and the results for this year have just been released. As we have come to expect, all of those that we put forward have been successful. As a result, I am beyond delighted to announce that the promotion has been announced of the individuals listed above.

On a personal note. I am tasked to write letters in support of all applications for promotion, a part of my role that I find one of the most satisfying. I am invariably humbled by the impact and reach of the individuals we put forward and this year has been no exception; this is reflected in the feedback I get from the promotions committees, who believe our cases to be incredibly strong. As a result, we can all take huge pride in being members of a department in which there is such talent and I hope you will join me in congratulating everyone who has been promoted this year.
