Professor Ivana Drobnjak's Inaugural Lecture - My academic journey: From Mathematics and Computer Science to Patient Needs and Healthcare - 2023.
About Ivana Drobnjak's Inaugural Lecture
Professor Drobnjak talks about her research in developing mathematical, computational and AI methodologies to solve problems that arise in healthcare.
Her lecture focuses on three research areas: physics-based computational modelling and simulation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain; evolution of Diffusion MRI gradient waveforms for axon diameter imaging; and AI-enabled patient care and remote patient monitoring.
She explores the latter and discusses her experience in uptake and adoption of AI-enabled digital technologies by clinicians, patients and healthcare.

About Ivana
Her main research interests are in developing mathematical and computational methods with applications in medicine and healthcare.
Her research career started at the University of Oxford where she completed her Masters at the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (OCIAM), and DPhil at COMLAB & Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB).
She has since worked on computational and AI modelling in medical imaging, microstructure imaging and digital health. Her goal is the translation of these methodologies for improving wellbeing and health.
