The Four (brain) Ages of Man
Abstract:
Professor Cole will talk about his research career to date, with a particular focus on neuroimaging as a tool to address clinical needs for neurological and psychiatric disease. He will expound upon four career stages, from undergraduate Psychology to a PhD in psychiatric neuroimaging genetics, to his work on the brain-age paradigm, and finally his current role at UCL. He will propound his perspective on the power of statistical modelling, machine learning and artificial intelligence to harness neuroimaging and related healthcare data to better understand and promote brain health throughout life
About Professor James Cole:
James Cole is Professor of Neuroimage Computing at the Centre for Medical Imaging Computer (CMIC) and Dementia Research Centre (DRC) at University College London (UCL). His research interests include brain ageing, neurological and psychiatric diseases, with a particular focus on neurodegeneration and dementia.
