UCL Computer Science Summer School

UCL Computer Science hosts an annual Summer School for students enrolled on our ACOMPS programme and In2Stem participants.

Two students interacting at the Rae Harbird Day

UCL CS research groups will guide students through masterclasses, hands-on activities, and challenges that will give them insight into computer science. In addition to technical skills, students will also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that are essential for success in the field of technology.

Students will spend their last day with an industry partner to learn about careers in tech and meet industry professionals.

Throughout the summer school, students will have hands on activities and the opportunity to explore topics such as:

  • Medical Imaging Computing
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Surgical data science
  • Virtual reality
  • Cybersecurity
  • Human interaction
  • Assistive technology with the GDI Hub
  • Robotics

The aim is to create a fun and interactive learning experience for all students, regardless of their prior experience with computer science. By the end of the programme, students will not only have gained valuable knowledge and skills, but also the confidence and motivation to pursue further education and explore careers in the field of computer science.

The 2024 edition has the collaboration of the following centres and research groups:

The 2024 industrial partner is Cisco.
