Mary graduated with honours in Physics and continued on to complete a masters in Medical Physics. Her interest in this area led her to obtain a doctorate in Medical Imaging in 2010. Her thesis focussed on developing an image simulation framework to compare the performance of digital mammography systems. Since her doctorate, Mary has worked on various projects including modelling gamma camera detectors for a large population screening study and simulating X-ray backscatter detectors..

Mary's experience in research has led her to broaden her interests in the clinical trial field. Since joining UCL, she has worked in the Haematology and Brain Trials team in CTC and joined CTU in August 2013.
