Session one of the online, self-paced Climate Ambassador learning focuses on how people become polarised in their views
Activity: a divisive decision
Now that you have watched the video on how polarisation can emerge and how to avoid it, can you think of a climate-related or school-related situation where:
You saw a decision being introduced that divided a group
You noticed yourself on the opposite side of a pyramid to someone else you had to collaborate with
Think about:
- What happened in that situation?
- How – if at all – was it dealt with or resolved?
Take a minute to think about an example and make some notes. You might want to talk through your example with a friend or family member; this can help you make sense of how best to avoid these unhelpful moments of opinion fragmentation about the critical work that needs to happen on climate change.
