Please read through the following sections before starting the exercises.
A Task Chain is a linked series of activities around one topic, which have been carefully designed to help you practice different aspects of your chosen language.
You will practise comprehension of written and spoken texts as well as aspects of grammar and vocabulary.
Depending on the material you should ideally be at lower to higher Intermediate level.
Depending on your level, each Task Chain should take between 30 – 50 minutes. However, there is no need to work through a single Task Chain in one sitting. You can do some of the tasks, take a break and then return later (your work will be saved if you log out whilst in the middle of a task chain). In fact, you will probably benefit more if you approach the Task Chains in this way, especially if you revise the work you’ve done each time you return.
You will notice that many of the slides contain a HELP button. Clicking on this button will provide you with support to help you complete the task.
Everything you do whilst working on a task is captured. The results will be displayed at the end of each task chain. As we are developing the course at the moment you are also asked to give some feedback to us (in a text box at the bottom of the task). Please use this to let us know if you had any problems, or didn't understand anything. Or indeed if there was something you particularly liked.
