Dr Mark Weeden’s Inaugural Lecture
26 November 2021
The Lecture has been postponed to the new year.
Dr Weeden will discuss his work helping to produce an English-language publication of materials excavated at Tell al-Wilaya by an Iraqi team in 2002. It will focus on the cuneiform tablets found that year, which have since been published in an Arabic-language format. Concerning agricultural matters from the 24th/23rd century BC, these tablets are of great importance for understanding the organisation of space during what has been termed "the world's first empire".
