Recovering the Past

A one-day course on 'recovering the past' for secondary school teachers

The course will provide an opportunity to anyone teaching subjects related to classical antiquity (for GCSE, A-level or IB), be it for ancient Greek, Latin Classical Civilisation or Ancient History, to brush up on the latest research on this theme in the fields of linguistics, papyrology, literature and archaeology, which will enable participants to add further dimensions to their teaching. Experts from University College London and the British School at Athens will offer lectures and seminars on various aspects of the theme. There will be the chance to speak to university lecturers informally during breaks.

Thanks to the generosity of the A. G. Leventis Foundation attendance is free (including tea, coffee, light sandwich lunch), and the event is open to all teachers at secondary schools, PGCE students, and PhD students interested in a career in secondary-school teaching. Since spaces are limited, registration is required via EventBrite.
