David Stuttard
David Stuttard read classics at St. Andrews and was Joint Artistic Director of aod (Actors of Dionysus, a company which he himself founded) for 11 years to 2004. He has recently written a series of successful books about the ancient word. His AD 410, The Year That Shook Rome (co-authored with Sam Moorhead) was a Daily Telegraph Top 5 recommended read of 2010. Since then he has published Power Games, Ritual and Rivalry at the Ancient Greek Olympics (BMP); 31 BC, Antony, Cleopatra and the Fall of Egypt (BMP); and The Romans Who Shaped Britain (Thames & Hudson). He is now writing Parthenon: Power and Politics on the Acropolis (BMP) and A History of Greece in 50 Lives (T&H). He is at www.davidstuttard.com and on Twitter.
Russell Bender
Russell trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq and on the Lincoln Center Theater Directors' Lab 2010. He was a runner up of the 2009 JMK award for young directors. His work as a director includes Game of Life by Rose Lewenstein (The Yard), Kalagora by Siddartha Bose (Edinburgh Fringe 2011 and UK studio tour), Emo by Tom Wainwright (ATC/Bristol Old Vic, Young Vic). In 2011 he was a staff director at the National Theatre where he worked on The Kitchen and The King James Bible. Other work as assistant director include The Master and Margarita (Complicite) The Beethoven Project (Aldeburgh Music), Tombstone Tales (Arcola Theatre). He has extensive experience of directing youth projects and running workshops for young people with companies including ATC, Almeida Projects, and NoFit State Circus school.
Deborah Pugh
Deborah is a performer and movement director trained at École Internationale de Théatre Jacques Lecoq, Paris. She has worked closely with award winning theatre company Theatre Ad Infinitum since 2007 devising and performing work such as Behind the Mirror, The War Project and, most recently, touring internationally with the critically acclaimed Translunar Paradise. Deborah is currently working on the development Ad Infinitum's latest production, It's A Wonderful Place, a choral cabaret exploring the Middle East. Deborah also continues her work as a movement practitioner in Universities and Drama Schools across the UK including RSAMD, Glasgow.
