Welcome to the website for the “Addressing the knowledge gaps in Enhanced Rock Weathering for carbon sequestration” workshop being held at UCL on Tuesday the 13th of May 2025.
The workshop aims to give a brief overview of Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) to fuel discussions that will help to identify and discuss potential solutions to knowledge gaps in the field.
Note: The extended registration deadline is Tuesday the 22nd of April 2025.

9:45 - 10:45: Morning Session 1 talks (open session)
- Morten Andersen (Cardiff University) - General introduction on ERW and its geochemical principles.
- UNDO - Overview of current state of and gaps in MRV in ERW.
- Sam Karslake (Climate Change Committee) - General overview of carbon dioxide removal in the UK and how ERW could fit into this.
10:45 - 11:15: Coffee break
11:15 - 12:15: Morning Session 2 talks (open session)
- Tom Reershemius (Newcastle University) - Field trials on ERW from a soil science perspective.
- Joey Betz (UCL) - Overview of UCL activities on ERW and the issues in data sharing.
12:15 - 14:00: Lunch and poster session (open session)
14:00 - 17:00: Closed discussion session on future opportunities for collaboration and proposals
17:00 - 18:30: Drinks reception for further discussion and networking (open session)
