Student Spotlight: Matthew Wan recipient of UCL CEGE Excellence Prize

Matthew Wan, MSc Geospatial Sciences (Building Information Modelling and Surveying) graduate, has been honoured with the UCL CEGE Excellence Prize for his outstanding academic achievements and innovative contributions to geospatial engineering.

We are proud to highlight Matthew Wan, an MSc Geospatial Sciences (Building Information Modelling and Surveying) graduate, as one of the recipients of the UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) Excellence Prizes for Postgraduate Students 2023-24. Matthew has been honoured for Best Overall Performance in MSc, recognising his outstanding academic achievements and dedication.

Reflecting on his experience, Matthew shared, “I am deeply honoured to receive the CEGE Excellence Prize. This recognition reflects the incredible opportunities and support I’ve experienced within the department, especially from my mentor, Dr. Jan Boehm, and my classmates. The resources and encouragement at CEGE have been vital in shaping my academic and professional growth.”

Matthew’s journey in Geospatial Science has been "both challenging and rewarding", providing him with opportunities to explore innovative approaches in geospatial engineering. His achievements exemplify the spirit of academic excellence and collaboration that defines the CEGE community.
