We are proud to announce the winners of the UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering Excellence Prizes for Postgraduate Students 2023-24, recognising outstanding academic performance and research excellence.

We are delighted to announce the winners of the UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering Excellence Prizes for Postgraduate Students for the academic year 2023-24. These prestigious awards recognise exceptional academic performance and research excellence across a variety of disciplines within the department.

Best Overall Performance in MSc

The five best-performing students, honoured for their outstanding achievements in their MSc programmes, are (in no particular order):

  • Jake Yeadon, MSc Civil Engineering (with Integrated Design)
  • Kwan Suet Tse, MSc Geospatial Sciences (Hydrographic Surveying)
  • Ricardo Fuentes Borrero, MSc Transport and Mobility Systems
  • Matthew Wan, MSc Geospatial Sciences (Building Information Modelling and Surveying)
  • Sophie Balding, MSc Environmental Systems Engineering

Excellence in MSc Research Project

Acknowledged for their exemplary research projects, the following students have been awarded the CEGE Research Excellence Prize (in no particular order):

  • Jacob Berry, MSc Geospatial Sciences
  • Michael Langsford, MSc Environmental Systems Engineering
  • Fatih Sinan Bin Azlan, MSc Earthquake Engineering
  • Cenchuan Zhang, MSc Venture Capital and Private Equity with Financial Technology
  • Wiaam Saeed, MSc in Engineering for International Development

Each recipient will receive a certificate and a monetary award of £1,000.
