Interdisciplinary Research in the Faculty of Laws

Michael Freeman, Professor of English Law, writes:

UCL’s Faculty of Laws organises a major annual international inter-disciplinary colloquium. This event has now been running for some 7 years and has thus far linked the disciplines of Law and Science, Law and Literature, Law and Medicine, Law and Religion, Law and Geography, Law and History and Law and Popular Culture. The next colloquium which is scheduled for September 13th and 14th 2004 will look at Law and Sociology, and subsequent colloquia are already in the pipeline on Law and Psychology and Law and Philosophy. This is an ongoing series and it is anticipated will go on for many years yet. The papers from the annual colloquium are published by Oxford University Press and an impressive series of books has been produced as a result of this.
