Kazakh Government Delegation

Friday November 27th saw CHIME host a delegation from the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on day five of a six-day fact-finding mission.

Composed of senior staff from the ministries of health and pensions, the group had been learning about UK healthcare and visiting a variety of places and organisations across the UK to learn specifically about the experiences gained in relation to national-level electronic healthcare record systems.

In the morning, the group heard from the founding Director of CHIME - Professor David Ingram - and other colleagues about the work of the openEHR Foundation (co-founded at UCL by CHIME and Ocean Informatics).

After lunch in the Public Engagement space of the new building at 222 Euston Road, the afternoon session focused on the work led by CHIME on European and international health records standards (ISO 13606) and systems that use them.

These include those now available from UCL spinout company Helicon Health.
