Aim

Provision of timely and useful evidence to policy-makers through two mechanisms 1) facilitating access to routine and novel datasets and providing methodological expertise to interrogate these datasets in a valid and meaningful way 2) evaluating economic impacts and value for money.

Background

The HEAD resource provides economic expertise and quantitative methods, including support for using administrative and cohort data resources (e.g. hospital, primary care, education and social care for England). Outputs include new methods, data sets, economic models and algorithms to support policy evaluation, low-cost intervention studies, and monitoring of services.
