Sir George Still

Publications by Sir George Frederic Still (1868-1941)

Paediatrician. MD Cambridge (1896), where he described juvenile rheumatoid arthritis ("Still's Disease" - see reference (1) below). FRCP (1901). Appointed as Physician to the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street in 1895. In 1899 he was appointed as Physican for Diseases of Children to King's College Hospital. Made Professor in 1906. Appointed Physican-in-ordinary to the Duke and Duchess of York (1936) and Physician-extraordinary to the King (1937). Knight Commader of the Royal Victorian Order (1937). Still was the outstanding British paediatrician of his day.
