Module information for Paediatrics and Child Health: Advanced Paediatrics (AP)

Master's of Science

Core modules

Core modules for all five pathways are:

  1. Evidence-based Child Health (CHLD0083)
  2. Applied Statistics for Health Research 1 (CHLD0064)
  3. Research Project (CHLD0063)

Route-specific core modules

In addition to the above core modules, Advanced Paediatrics students are required to do either: Specialist Paediatrics I (Acute) module (CHLD0067) or Specialist Paediatrics II (Chronic) module (CHLD0068). You may choose to do both.

Optional modules

MSc students also take three or four optional modules (45 to 60 credits) depending on whether you take one or both of the Specialist Paediatrics modules (see route-specific core modules above). For a list of optional modules, visit the full module list on the main page.


PG Dip

Core modules

Students are required to take Evidence-based Child Health (CHLD0083), Applied Statistics for Health Research 1 (CHLD0064), and one or both of the Specialist Paediatrics modules.

The Research Project (CHLD0063) is not required for the postgraduate diploma, but we do hope that all of our students have the enthusiasm and develop the skills to begin their own projects as a result of the degree.

Optional modules

PG Dip students also take four or five optional modules (60 to 75 credits) depending on whether you take one or both of the Specialist Paediatrics modules (CHLD0067 and CHLD0068). For a list of optional modules, visit the full module list on the main page.

Core modules

Students are required to take Evidence-based Child Health (CHLD0083), Applied Statistics for Health Research 1 (CHLD0064), and one of the Specialist Paediatrics modules (CHLD0067 and CHLD0068).

The Research Project (CHLD0063) is not required for the postgraduate certificate.

Optional modules
