Professor John Harper heads the Livingstone Skin Research Centre at ICH, a group focusing on various aspects of skin biology: the skin barrier and its relevance to eczema and the genetic ichthyoses; biomarkers in scarring; the biology and genetics of localised scleroderma and virus/host interactions in HPV and VZV infection (with Prof Breuer).
Dr Wei Li Di is Senior Lecturer in Skin Biology at ICH and her expertise is in skin culture techniques and immunohistochemistry. Her main research theme is on Netherton syndrome and atopic dermatitis. Her most recent work is in collaboration with Professors Adrian Thrasher and Waseem Qasim (Molecular Immunology), on the potential of gene therapy for the treatment of Netherton syndrome and epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica.
