ICH Research Degrees Committee (RDC)

Terms of Reference

  • To monitor and develop the ICH research degrees programme and strategy
  • To review and improve the postgraduate research student experience, in collaboration with the SSCC
  • To receive updates to UCL strategy, policy and procedures with respect to postgraduate research students from the Faculty RDC, and to implement these
  • To ensure effective communication of matters relating to research degrees at Research & Teaching Department, Institute and Faculty level

 

Membership of the RDC:

  • Departmental Graduate Tutor for Research (Chair)
  • ICH Postgraduate Tutors (one for each Research & Teaching Department)
  • Senior Research Degrees Administrator (Secretary)
  • Lead Student Representative (GOS-ICH)

Other people may be asked to attend RDC on an ad hoc basis, such as the Departmental Graduate Tutor (Teaching) and MRes Programme Director.

Reporting to:

  • Institute Management Team (IMT): Chair of the RDC to report on research degree matters annually
  • Faculty Research Degree Committee

 

Timing of RDC Meetings:

Three Committee meetings per year, ie 1 per Term.
