Online Summer School – Introduction to statistics with R

Notedue to the coronavirus outbreak, all live courses will now be delivered online through a video feed. You can expect the same level of group and individual support as you would have received in our face-to-face courses.

Details

Participants will be introduced to the fundamental principles of statistical analysis and to ways of conducting their own analysis using RStudio, including graphs, summaries, precision estimation and significance testing. The excellent free software Rstudio, which is a user-friendly interface for R, will be introduced and used for all practical aspects of the course. In more detail, this summer school will cover:

  • Types of data
  • Graphical displays
  • Summaries of data 
  • Confidence intervals
  • Hypothesis testing (parametrics and non-parametric tests\)
  • p-values

Neither prior knowledge of R (or simular software) nor of statistical analysis is required. Everyone registered should ensure Rstudio is installed on their computer ( installation guideline will be made available two weeks before the course)
