Feedback from previous courses is overwhelmingly positive. Click this link to see all feedback.

The course is spread over 2 days (10am-5pm day 1, 10am-4pm day2) and offers an introduction to image analysis with the free software ImageJ / Fiji.

It is a mixture of lectures, demos, hands on sessions and exercises.

The first day is an introduction to digital images, bit depth, exposure, channels and histograms, and how to open, analyse and manipulate these in ImageJ. Exercises to get to grips with ImageJ.

The second day we will work on various exercises in image analysis, such as automatic cell counting, feature identification, cell tracking and colocalisation, with ImageJ and ICY. The afternoon session will be an introduction to macro writing. There will be a final optional session to look at your own image analysis projects, but places will be limited. Further time can be booked (free of charge) with the course organiser to look at users data.

It is advisable to bring your own laptop to work on the course exercises.
