Before booking a 1-to-1 session, you may like to investigate other sources of support that are offered by the library.
- You can book onto an group session through our Training Calendar.
- The library has a guide to Searching for Information, which includes links to guides to individual databases or platforms on the homepage.
- If your search is for a systematic review, our Systematic Reviews guide provides information about in person and online library support for systematic review literature searches.
- You can find online books about conducting literature searches in the Academic Communication Skills Resources reading list.
If you would still like a 1-to-1 appointment for support with a literature search, there are two steps to making a booking:
- Provide us with some information about your search.
- Use our online booking form to select a time for an appointment.
If you would like to speak to a librarian about something else, i.e. not a literature search, please go straight to the online booking form.
We would usually expect undergraduate or postgraduate taught course students to book a maximum of one 1-to-1 (or small group) appointment with a librarian to support a literature search for a dissertation or end-of-year research project.
The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library provides support for students at:
- UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health
- UCL Institute for Global Health
- UCL Global Business School for Health
If you are not able to attend the appointment, please cancel it or contact Heather Chesters (ich.library@ucl.ac.uk) as there may be a waiting list.
