    Connecting to WiFi

There are two WiFi services available at UCL - Eduroam which is for UCL staff and students as well as those visiting from other Eduroam participating institutions, and UCLGuest which is for visitors to UCL.

    ZCR

If staff invite external guests to ZCR and they require access to Wi-Fi, but do not have a UCL computer account, please advise them to connect to the GOSH Guest Wi-Fi. There is no UCL Guest Wi-Fi at ZCR only Eduroam (require a UCL computer account to connect)

    CONNECTING TO FREE GUEST WIFI
    1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device.
    2. Select 'GOSH-Guest' from the list of available wireless networks.
    3. Enter your name and a valid email address.
    4. Read the terms and conditions of use and click on the box acknowledging acceptance of the terms.
    5. Click on the connect button and enjoy using the free wifi service.

    Data Storage

Each user will get 50GB of space for their own work-related use

To setup a shared data area up to 200GB contact the local IT team. This can be shared with colleagues who have a UCL computer account.

The UCL Research Data service enables safe storage and access for large volumes of research data. The service is available to UCL researchers, their partners and collaborators.

The use of sensitive, person identifiable data (PID) is integral to a large proportion of SLMS research and it is essential to ensure that it is managed in a way that meets legal requirements and provides adequate assurance to partner organizations and research subjects. The SLMS Data Safe Haven (IDHS) is a technical environment for receiving, handling and storing sensitive data securely which has been certified to the ISO27001 standard and conforms to the NHS IG Toolkit.

    Print@UCL

    What is print@UCL?

A sustainable and highly available print service that allows UCL's staff and students to print, copy, scan and fax quickly and easily.

    Why is UCL doing this?

To improve quality of services through standardisation on newer, more efficient and secure technology and contribute to a 'greener' and more eco-friendly environment.

In order to use print@UCL the following needs to be done:

    1. Register your UCL ID card with the service by tapping your card on the card reader and following the instructions on the screen

    2. Configure your computer to use print@UCL by choosing the correct print queue

The above can be done in advance. You can find further instructions on how to do this on the ISD website:

    Web Portal

Print jobs are kept for 24hrs.  However, you can retain your print jobs by using the web portal to review and manage print jobs https://printaccount.ucl.ac.uk/

    Mobile Printing

print@UCL gives the flexibility to print from your mobile device, please refer to http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/how-to/print-copy-scan/how-to-print-mobile

    Secure Printing

Have peace of mind printing secure documents.  Your print jobs will only be released once you swipe your ID card on the device.  Simply send your print jobs and they will sit in the queue until you are ready to print (however note the default retention period of 24 hours, as above).

If you experience any problems whilst using the print@UCL service please call the ISD service desk on extension 25000.

Retaining your print documents > 24 hours:

All prints get deleted of the system after 24 hours. If you wish to retain your document beyond this, you just go to the below website and log in with your UCL userid and password and then select the documents to be retained. You just 'Unretain' them when you no longer need to keep them and this can either be done through this website or via the photocopier:
