I feel very lucky to be the Institute Manager at GOS Institute of Child Health and am delighted to be nominated as one of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Role models. We are a department focused on research and innovation that will change the lives of children and I hope that internally we will also strive to work together as innovatively and collaboratively as possible. I’m passionate about supporting all staff, particularly those working in the Professional Services teams here, with developing their knowledge and skills and looking to their future career development. I appreciate that there may be barriers to progression and I am committed to identifying these where I can and putting tangible measures in place to ensure we address them as we move forwards. As a mother of two young children and with a degree of elder care responsibility, I know that juggling multiple roles in life can add to the pressures felt in the workplace. I hope that I lead with empathy and support for all staff, while encouraging us to work with a collective energy and pace to be as effective as we can be.
