Could an algorithm discover the law of universal gravitation directly from data? In this work, I will present can algorithm to extract physical laws from data, as well as properties of the system. The algorithm uses graph neural networks and symbolic regression, and can recover Newton’s law directly from observations of our Solar System. I will then discuss future prospects for learning about our Universe with machine learning.
