The 2014 Lab Dinner was held on Friday 21st November 2014 and was attended by 85 alumni, staff and PDRA's.

The pre-dinner lecture was held in the Chemistry Auditorium and was given by the departments' very own Professor Giuseppe Battaglia, entitled "Molecular Bionics: Copying Nature to Control Nature".

Due to UCL building works, we had to make changes to the venue of the dinner. The new venue for the dinner was the Ambassadors Hotel on Upper Woburn Place, only a short walk from the department. Everyone seemed pleased with the new location and enjoyed the evening. 

Menu on the night

Starters
  • Bocconcini mozzarella salad with vine cherry tomatoes, basil and olives(v)
  • Scottish smoked salmon with keta caviar, crème fraiche and lemon
    Main Course
    • Rack of lamb with parmesan herb crust, minted cannellini beans and thyme jus
    • Seared tuna, french beans, kalamata olives, sun-blushed tomatoes & yoghurt dressing
    • Butternut squash parcels with walnut sauce and rocket salad(v)
      Dessert
      • Almond and peach tart with clotted cream ice-cream
      • Coconut and vanilla pod panna cotta with mango sorbet & ginger snap biscuit
