Chemical Sustainability MSc

Our new Chemical Sustainability MSc will equip you with the multidisciplinary skills and cutting-edge research knowledge in sustainably and green chemistry to address global challenges such as energy and climate change, pollution, clean water and plastic recycling.

Taught at UCL East, this programme combines multidisciplinary teaching with sustainable  and green chemistry research, preparing students for a range of careers within industry, public sector, and academia.

This programme is taught at our new UCL East campus at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as part of the Manufacturing Futures Lab (MFL), an innovative facility and multidisciplinary research hub to underpin the end-to-end production of new products, such as fine chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and new materials, in ways that are smarter, faster, environmentally friendly and, overall, more sustainable.

    Chemical & Physical Society

    The Chemical and Physical Society is the students' society of UCL's Chemistry Department. Founded in 1876, it is UCL's oldest students' society.

    UCL Chemistry rated 3rd in UK for 4* submissions in REF 2021

     

    Case studies submitted to REF 2021 by UCL Chemistry include: research contributing to the development of a drug to treat narcolepsy and Prader Willi Syndrome, significantly improving the quality of life for people with these rare diseases around the globe, and research into the behaviour of catalytic materials.
