Research project
Title: Detection & Separation of Pharmaceuticals in Aqueous Solutions by Metal Organic Frameworks.
MOFs have gained tremendous attention owing to a wide number of exceptional properties including their structural topologies, accessible cages and tunnels, high surface areas, high pore volume and a wide range of pore sizes. This easy tunability of their pore size and shape and adjustable chemical functionality allow MOFs to be used for different specific applications. The aim of this project is to investigate the applicability of the MOF packed columns as potential stationary phases for the HPLC separation of the pharmaceuticals and also study MOFs as adsorbents for removal of pharmaceuticals from water
