Many congratulations to our Global Management of Natural Resources students for completing their overseas studies in Australia.

On Friday 30th August, UCL’s MSc Global Management of Natural Resources (GMNR) students completed their overseas studies, including their research projects with the University of South Australia’s Future Industries Institute (UniSA FII). A fantastic array of projects, ranging from water quality monitors to environmental and economic assessments, and the development of new renewable and mining technologies, was on show during a poster presentation to wrap up the event.

Professors Eva Sorensen (Head of Department) and Vivek Dua (Deputy Head – Education) paid a visit to Adelaide, along with Dr Alex Norori-McCormac (Programme Director) to see out the academic year in style. The day was supported by Professors Peter Murphy (Director – FII) and Albert Juhasz (MSc GMNR lead at UniSA), along with Dr Craig Styan the administrative team at FII. The research projects and supervision have been supported by a significant number of academic staff at the FII and UniSA.

As part of the event, two best posters were selected by the joint UCL – UniSA academic team, with Jinghan Tan (Effect of TiO2 on the Performance of Plant-Based Polymer/TiO2 Composties on 3D printing, and Rui Yu (3D-Printed PVA Valves for Delayed Control in Microfluidic Systems: Applications for Monitoring in Swimming Pool Water) making good use of props as part of their discussions with visitors.

On the 23rd of September, the 9th cohort of GMNR students will commence studies at UCL in London. The programme continues to grow year on year, facilitating a wide range of opportunities for students to learn about, and help solve, the broad interdisciplinary challenges of today and tomorrow in the management of natural resources.
