PhD student Waqar M Ashraf receives runners-up award at 10th PSE Asia Summit

Mr. Waqar Muhammad Ashraf, a first-year PhD student in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL and working under the supervision of Professor Vivek Dua, received the runners-up award at 10th PSE Asia Summit that was organized at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras campus from 10-14th December, 2022, for his presentation entitled: "Machine learning for operational excellence of industrial complexes supporting net-zero”. The PSE Asia series is a biennial international symposium in Asia bringing together researchers and practitioners to discuss recent developments in Process Systems Engineering.
Mr. Waqar also attended SAFECONOMY- Solar to Alternative Fuel Economy Workshop organized at Northumbria University from 8-9th December, 2022. The workshop was arranged to give training to early career researchers and share the latest research being carried out in the domain of solar to alternative fuel production for net-zero. Mr. Waqar presented his recent research in the form of poster entitled “Machine learning enabled operational excellence of large industrial complexes supporting the net-zero goal” and was awarded the best poster award at the workshop.
