Sasha Green - Year 1 of MEng Engineering (Chemical) student

Meet Sasha Green - Year 1 MEng student

Sasha is a Year 1 of MEng Engineering (Chemical) student at UCL Chemical Engineering.

For Black History Month, we asked Sasha to answer the following questions:

Who inspired you to your study/career choice and why?

I read an article about a young, black, female chemical engineering working at Lush which really enabled me to visualise myself in a similar career.

What was the biggest challenge that you have faced and why?

Growing up in a small town where I was one of about 3 mixed race students in the whole school. I met some of my best friends there but I often wonder what it would've been like to have someone else who knew what it felt like to be the only person of your race in the room.

What quote inspires you?

"You did not wake up today to be mediocre"

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Surround yourself with the people that love and uplift you, good friends don’t come around everyday.
