ChangeMakers 10th Anniversary

We invite the whole UCL community to celebrate and champion student partnership! We have supported over 500 partnership projects and countless other student-staff partnership activities, and guided institutional policy over the years!

We are celebrating!

Starting with ten student-led projects in 2014/15, and now supporting on average 50 partnership projects a year that bring together the diverse expertise of students and staff, we want to showcase this work with the community. Academic year 2024/25 marked our tenth birthday!

Running order

Date: Wed 4th June 2025 - Time: 11:30am-2:30pm - Venue: Jeffery Hall (IOE)

  • Arrivals at Jeffery Hall from 11:30am.
  • 12pm - 1pm: We will have a selection of short presentations from current project teams, and ChangeMakers alumni to showcase the impact of partnership work that has been carried out to date: 
11:55-12:00: Welcome and introductions - Fiona Wilkie (interim ChangeMakers Manager & Head of Student Partnerships)
12:00-12:10: Co-creating a patient-centred feedback tool - Hanady Hamdallah
12:10-12:20: Changemakers in Action: Transforming Medical Sciences Education - Nephtali Marina-Gonzalez & Michelle Stainbrook 
12:20-12:30: Facilitating learning about eugenics and statistics - Stephanie Dickinson
12:30-12:40: Leveraging Faculty-level Change with Student-Staff Partnership​ - Jesper Hansen & Abbi Shaw
12:40-12:50: Grand Challenges X ChangeMakers Partnership - Sam Balch & Milly Metcalfe
12:50-13:00: First Patient Experience - a ChangeMakers Success Story - Wendy Birch
  • 1pm - 1:30pm: Short workshop style exercise were we will invite teams to describe their projects in a 'Three Minute Thesis' style, and present this to their tables.
  • 1:30pm to close: Invitation to network and chat to each other about your experiences - there will be posters, snacks and cake!

Who can attend?

  • Anyone can attend from across UCL - if you are a student, academic or professional services member of staff. 
  • We particularly welcome project team members who have conducted projects this year to talk about their ongoing work with attendees.
