2017 UK Neuromuscular Translational Research Conference

The tenth annual UK Neuromuscular Translational Research Conference took place on 22nd and 23rd March 2017 at the UCL Institute of Child Health, Guildford Street, London. The conference was jointly hosted by the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases and Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Major translational themes included Genomic Therapies, Inherited Neuropathies, Mitochondrial Disease and the NIHR Rare Diseases Translational Research Collaboration.

We were delighted to welcome Nobel Laureate Professor James Rothman, Research Professor UCL / Professor & Chair Cell Biology at Yale, to deliver the fourth Morgan-Hughes Thomas lecture on his renowned work on cellular trafficking.

The conference additionally held its third patient day, running after the conference. These patient days, run immediately before or after the conference, are an increasingly popular and successful innovation.
